How To Celebrate Memorial Day With Military Suspenders!
This Memorial Day, let’s make it our mission to truly reflect on the meaning behind the holiday — a day meant to honor the men and women who died while serving in the U.S. military. Did you know that Memorial Day was originally known as Decoration Day and that it originated after the end of the Civil War? It didn’t actually become an official federal holiday until 1971. Over the years, the meaning of this holiday has shifted more towards being the day to celebrate the unofficial start of summer. There’s nothing wrong with this as long as we don’t lose sight of the main meaning. There are many ways to honor the life of those who have served in the Armed Forces and have passed away — displaying your flag at home, attending a parade, visiting a cemetery to place flags on the graves of fallen soldiers — to name a few.
As you gather with friends and family at your annual barbecue and attend your local parade, show your nationalistic pride in your choice of clothing. A pair of military suspenders is a patriotic way to support the military. If a family member who served in the military has died, choose to wear a pair of suspenders with the insignia of the branch of Armed Forces they served, whether it’s the Army, Air Force, Marine Corps, Navy or Coast Guard. These dapper suspenders work with everything from a pair of dressy shorts and a button-down shirt to cargo pants and a simple tee. Camouflage is a pattern steeped in the history of the military and what better way to show your support than with a rugged pair of camouflage suspenders.
Not just for casual gatherings, military suspenders can be worn to the office during the week leading up to Memorial Day or during any other national holiday such as Veteran’s Day or Independence Day.
